The RTB lawfully and fairly process personal data about employees, clients, case parties suppliers and other individuals in order to achieve its mission and functions.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018, individuals can request a copy of their personal data held by the RTB.
How to make a Subject Access Request

When completing the Data Access Request form please ensure to:
- Give as much detail as possible to enable the RTB to process it efficiently and correctly.
- Be clear enough to enable the RTB understand what type of data is being requested.
- Supply the appropriate photographic identification with your request e.g. utility bill.
- Include your contact details to allow the RTB Data Protection Unit to contact you and comply with your request.
The RTB aim to respond within thirty (30) days of receipt of a valid request
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your access request you are entitled to make a complaint to the Data Protection Commissioner who may investigate the matter for you. The Data Protection Commissioner’s website contains useful information on access requests and other data protection issues at www.dataprotection.ie.
