Residential Tenancies Board welcomes appointment of Mark McManus as Interim Chairperson

26 June 2026: The Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) has welcomed the appointment of Mark McManus as Interim Chairperson of the organisation by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD.

Mr McManus succeeds Owen Keegan, who stepped down as Chairperson of the RTB on 11 June 2026. Mr McManus has been appointed from 24 June 2026 for a six-month period, or until a permanent Chair is appointed through the Public Appointments Service process, whichever is earlier.

Mr McManus was first appointed to the Board of the RTB in September 2025 for a three-year term following a public recruitment process. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with significant experience across professional services, technology, data and transformation. He has held senior technology and programme leadership roles with Aer Lingus, Sandvik, ICON Clinical and KPMG, leading large-scale transformation across cloud, data and enterprise systems.

Mr McManus currently works with Expleo Ireland as a Technical Programme Manager, where he is involved in the delivery of major IT infrastructure and transformation programmes in the healthcare and life sciences sector, covering enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, security operations and vendor delivery.

Speaking on Mr McManus’ appointment, Rosemary Steen, Director of the RTB, said:

“I welcome the appointment of Mark McManus as Interim Chairperson of the Residential Tenancies Board. He brings significant experience in leading large-scale transformation programmes, which will be valuable as the RTB continues to evolve and enhance how we deliver our services. I look forward to working with Mark and the Board to support a fair and well-regulated rental sector that works for the people of Ireland.”
