This case may be more suitable for Dispute Resolution
You are reporting a landlord for breaches of rental law relating to your own current or
past tenancy.
We recommend that you complete this form with only “Failure to register a tenancy” selected.
For other breaches (including Notice of Termination, Rent Review, or deposits), the RTB’s
Dispute Resolution Service may be more suitable.
Why dispute resolution might be better for you:
- It is the only way a tenant can get a legally binding order for repayment of
overpaid rent or deposits.
- A dispute case can award compensation and order a landlord to fix or address the issue, while an investigation cannot.
If you continue with this form
By completing this form, you are putting a case forward for formal investigation by the
RTB. This can lead to fines of up to €15,000 for each breach against the landlord (paid to
the Government).
An investigation cannot order your landlord to return rent or deposits to you or award
you compensation.
You can learn more about your options on our Complain to the RTB about a landlord
page.
